Who can be my sponsor?
BHBV is primarily for personnel serving in Gibraltar (MOD and Serving), their dependencies or friends. All bookings require a local sponsor who guarantees that the flats will be looked after (i.e. Giving you a character reference). This allows us to keep the costs down and only ask for £50 damage waiver cheque upon booking or £50 per person if a large group. MOD employees, serving and reserve forces, veterans or MoD sub-contractors may book these apartments at the bookings Clerks discretion, but will be asked for a refundable £200 damage cheque upon booking. If you’re in doubt contact BHBV.
How can I pay?
Cheque,cash or Bank Transfer, Cheques made payable to GCF.
£50 Damage Waiver Cheques?
Once you depart & all is satisfactory with your flat & there are no damages/ breakages your damage waiver cheque will be destroyed.

If I cancel can I get a refund?
No, all monies are non-refundable.
If you book from overseas there is a £10 booking fee. Also the full amount of hire is required on booking, these monies are non-refundable.
How do I get from the Airport or by car?
The accommodation is located at Buena Vista estate off Hospital hill Road, the property’s are Prevost House & Phillimore House.DO NOT ask to go to Britannia House else you will end up at the old property on Queensway.
Britannia house Buena Vista is a little too far to walk with cases.
You can get a Taxi outside the airport (ask for PREVOST/PHILLIMORE HOUSE BUENA VISTA)
Or, catch a Red bus No 5 to Market Place (£1 per person). The bus stand (Airport/Frontier) is located on Winston Churchill Avenue a two minute walk from the terminal. At Market Place you are able to connect onto all other bus services in Gibraltar.
Change in Market place bus station; catch a No 2 bus to Europa Point. Ask to be put off at Brymton.
Walk forward following the bus but keep to the right on the Buena Vista rd. (down the slight incline.)
This will bring you to a cross Rd, walk straight across the rd. and our apartments Phillimore house and Prevost house are on the Left.
The bus fare is Adults 1.80 Child £1.50 OAP 1.00
If you show your Military ID it’s free on the second bus
What do I do if I get diverted to Malaga?
Occasionally if there is a cross wind on the airport you will then be diverted to Malaga.
Don’t worry, a plan is in place to send coaches to pick you up and bring you to Gibraltar.
You leave the airport as normal; remember to pick up your baggage!
They will tell you on the plane to go to the underground car park to pick up the coaches.
Your family will see you have been diverted via the information board and will have an estimated time of arrival.
When you get off the coach in Gibraltar airport you will need to clear immigration and then pick up your bags from the carousel.
What time can I take over my flat & collect the flat key?
You can enter your flat from 2pm on first day of hire not before,there is a key safe outside each flat main door enter the four digit code & your key will be in there, please call the week before between 9 -12 and we will provide you with the code and confirm the apartment number.
What time can I occupy the flat?
2pm on the first day of hire not before.
What time do I have to depart?
10 am. If you have an evening flight you can request to book an extra half a day the extra cost is £20 ( Pending availability of your flat) please call into the office Mon-Fri 9am-1pm or on booking you can request an half a day.
What do I have to do on departure?
When you depart by 10am ( unless you have request a half a day ) please remove any rubbish from the flat as it attracts ants, also leave the flat how you would expect to find it ,failure to do so could incur cleaning charges then leave your key in the key safe.
What currency do I need to bring?
English Pounds, if you visit Spain you will need Euros

Yes, we have Full Cable TV packages
Do you have Internet?
Yes, all flats have internet, but speed can be limited.
Do you get Mosquitos?
Yes, please remember to bring insect repellent.
What do I need to bring?
Everything is provided for you in the flats all you need to bring is Towels. (Mosquito repellent and suntan lotion for the summer).

Do you have Washing Machines?
Yes, all flats have a washing Machine & on the back balcony there is washing lines to dry your clothes.

Do you have parking?
Yes, but limited space.
You can park anywhere in front of the Flats.
You can also use 3 allocated spaces under the apartments displaying Bright yellow chevrons

Is there a get you in pack provided?
No, all flats are self catering we supply you with your first toilet rolls ,binbag washing up liquid, all purpose cleaner & hand-wash. The only thing we do not supply is towels you will need to bring your own towels.
No pets are allowed in the flats.
How many bedrooms are the flats?
All our flats are 3 bedrooms, which have 1 double bed, 3 single beds plus 2 sofa beds in the lounge, top floor flats have 2 double beds,1 single bed plus 2 sofa bed in the lounge.
What is provided in each flat?
Each flat is self catering & is provided with all bedding, tea towels,bathmats,all kitchen pots and pans etc,kettle,toaster,microwave,hob,oven,fridge,washing machine, TV with cable TV, Wi-Fi , DAB Radios, Fans, Heating, cots & highchairs (please request on booking), key safe (situated outside your flat door) patio furniture, also each flat has an information folder detailing useful information on bus timetables, Taxi number ,Takeaways etc.
Is there an Emergency Phone?
In case of an emergency there is a 24 hour contact number 54021823, please note each call out there is a charge of £20 per call out, for lost keys, locked out of flat. Please contact your sponsor before contacting the emergency phone, please consider if it is an emergency or could it wait till the next working day where you can call into the office to report any problems with your flat.
Is there a Bar?
No, but there are lots of bars & restaurants in town.
Is smoking allowed in the flats?
No, we have a no smoking policy in all our flats & stairways; you may smoke on the balcony.
Are BBQ Allowed on the Balcony?
No, we don’t allow bbqs on the balcony’s or surrounding area.
Are food packs available?
No, but there is EROSKI supermarket just across from the airport, so would be wise to collect a few essentials before you get a Taxi to Buena Vista. There is also a Morrison’s Supermarket which would be a taxi ride too.
What are the opening times of the supermarkets?
EROSKI 8am-10pm Everyday
MORRISONS Monday –Saturday 8am-10pm, Sunday 8am-8pm
Where is the closest Pharmacy?
There are lots of Pharmacy’s in town but Morrison’s also has a Pharmacy

What is the weather like in Gibraltar?
The weather is a lot warmer than the UK, winter months is around 12*c, summer months 32*C
So please remember to bring suntan lotion because even on a cloudy day you can still get burnt.
Is there a Swimming Pool?
No we don’t have a Swimming pool but there’s is a couple of Swimming Pools close by
(15-20 minute walk)
Camp Bay Pool & Little Bay- Free to everyone, facing the Atlantic, both bays have been fully developed as beach resorts and now includes a series of interconnecting terraces providing easy access to the sea, At Camp Bay a small swimming pool has been set-aside for younger children, together with changing facilities and a summer café. Opens May to September.
Are there any Beaches in Gibraltar?
Gibraltar has Four Beaches around the shoreline, Sandy Bay, Eastern Beach, Catalan Bay, Western Beach. Please see map which will highlight where the beaches are situated. Please also note lifeguards only work from May to September.
Where is Buena Vista?
Buena Vista is situated on the local family’s estate more to the southern end of the rock, even though you will need to use public transport (Buses are every 15 minutes) to get to and from town from your flat or you could walk which would take 30-45 minutes the advantage is that it’s very quite location with fantastic views of straits of Gibraltar.
How far ahead can I book a flat?
To book one of our flats we would need a 20% none refundable deposit, the remaining balance has to be paid 6 weeks before you or your guests arrive. We would require the full payment to be made to secure your flat when booking from overseas.
Is it suitable for Disabled?
Not suitable for the disabled due to we have no lifts only stairs, you can request a ground floor flat on booking which only has a few steps into the flat, also where Buena Vista is located there are lots of hills.
How far from the flats is the bus stop?
The bus stop into to town is a 5 minute walk, (No 2 bus) the buses in Gibraltar are free to local residents and free to MOD ID card holders,

What kind of shops are in Gibraltar?
Here in Gibraltar the shops are VAT Free and are just like shopping in the uk. In Main street you will find a wide range of shops M&S,Matalan PEACOCKS, Debenhams, TOP SHOP, WALLIS, DOROTHY PERKINS, NEXT to name a few and electrical shops, jewellery/Perfume shops & tax free cigarettes & Booze shops. When leaving Gibraltar the duty free allowance is 1 litre of alcohol & 200 cigarettes per person.
